Cannot Upload Home Page

Have searched for 6 hours all posts without success now for you guys to help again, although it has been a year since you were last needed - with much gratitude.

I have this week upgraded from version 8.5 to 9 and I am impressed, except for google express but lets not go there.

I cannot upload the home page, all other contents no problem, the use as website home page is checked and I have tried refreshing web site as well as just publishing.

For now I have put a temporary index.html page in the root using Dw which is doing the job (except for a couple of side bar errors) but this isn't the way I want to continue.

I made a few changes to home page, uploaded and refreshed - no joy.
I even deleted index.html in the root but still it didn't upload. I've checked my site directories and it isn't present anywhere.

Just checked out your site Phil and it asks me to run an add-on?

Anyway, back to basics...is the index page I see still the DW one?

If so, compact your db, change your network settings script from 1 to 10 (or similar),compact the db, then purge and refresh...

has your index page been designed in DW and registered correctly with Actinic?

Talk me through your design site method please (designed in DW, registered in Act? etc)

Good question Darren I need to check that out. I know that my other site www.giardino.co.uk does use a DW home page that is correctly registered, and that is meant to be but I cannot remember if I did similar for this site.

However, by deleting the index page in root of www.spa-care.co.uk and then uploading surely this would not have any affect? It should still upload to the root directory.

I am also now concerned with
1) mal's post that he's getting 'odd' pages and
2) you are being asked to run an add-on.

My web stat conversions on my other site (giardino), which has been running for 5 years in actinic, have been dropping dramatically in conversion of visit per sale from 27% to 8% for no reason. I wonder if therein lies some of the reasons highlighted this evening.
