hi all i have deleted a product from my catalogue but i have left it on the new products page on my home page. Now when i open up the marketing tab and go into new products Actinic closes down with an error message. I have done this before and i know it stupid but i cant remember how to put the problem wright Version is 8

I would presume that you could just open ActinicCatalog Database and just delete the product from the New Products table.

you'll need to go into the database, with Access, and remove it manually from the New Products table.

it's in your Site1 (or whatever you have renamed it) folder, whereever that is located.

you're looking for ActinicCatalog.mdb

It could be in your My documents folders in an Actinic V8 > Sites > Site1 folder or, it could under your Actinic folder in your program files, depending on your setup.

Woah - don't delete the database file. Backup your database then just use MS Access to open the database and then open the table New Products. You can the delete the stray entry in that table.

Could you try recreating the product with the same ref no and short description and see if that allows you to go into the marketing tab and remove it. Then delete the product again.

It wont let me create the item as this is not a unique product code

in that case you've 'deleted' the original item from the catalog but not 'purged' it?
ie. it's still in your catalog with a red cross through it?
IT won't let you recreate it while the original exists.
If it is still in your catalog, wouldn't it be easier to just UNdelete it, remove it from the New products list IN Actinic and RE-delete it?

Did you purge the deleted product from your catalog? If not then that is why you can't create the product with the same ref. In that case, can you undelete the product and see if that will let you into the marketing tab without it crashing.
