    URGENT-Search Record Error Msg

i have recently been getting this error that says:

"Search record not found in any record"

and i have no idea why.

i am at my wits end..

it occurs whenever i do a update or refresh.

and its not one dialog box. its many.

when i do a refresh in test mode.i get no such error. any idea.

what i have realised today also was that for my text link nav bar layouts it uses actxsmall.. when i change it to the css class that i need to use it has a error. but i need to use custom css classes for those text links in nav bar due to my clients requirement of sizing. he wants it to resize when the user clicks the diff text sizes in the ie explorer.. anyone got any ideas. help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Can you try a purge and refresh (Help | Troubleshooting - tick all the options). I sounds like it could possibly be a corrupt perl file which is why it works on the test site as this generates new scripts. Note that if you have made any perl changes you will have to re-apply them after you have refreshed the site and then update again.

This is already built into actinic so no need to alter css

there are 2 things that could be the root of the problem, one is the perl script which Tracey suggested, but if you have done a purge (replacing all the perl scripts) this should have helped. the other is the search layouts, try reverting these to the factory default and refreshing

You can also compact the database - also if you have snapshots backing up your work you could revert to one of those before the problem existed

there is a need to add additional css classes as the sizing changes my client wants, if i use teh classes such as actxsmall and stuff can;t do the resizing in IE. for some reason he wants the website to resize using that. and using actinic and the sizes in px..it doesn;t work.

i have reverted, but the problem keeps creeping up. i can;t seem to pinpoint the exact point yet when it happens.. i have literally resorted to changing one small code. then refreshing.. i have to keep snapshotting which eats into my time.. i work for 10 mins, upload for 30 mins, snapshot for 25 mins..

you guys know what i mean?.. but i really wanna thank you'll for your help. hopefull i can find a solution.

the silly thing is the comp in the clients office cannot login to this site.

Its getting to sound like there is a problem with your instalation of actinic.

Try instaling actinic on another pc upload a default site and check it works ok - import a snapshot - upload and see what happens
