    Ading a 2nd product menu

i'm trying to work out how to add (what I think would be called) a 2nd product menu - I'm working with the executive theme and the nav/menu occupies the left hand column. I've found an example of what I'm trying to achieve here: http://menswearonline.co.uk/ ...where the site displays 'products' and beneath that 'brands'.

I've searched the forum best I can but have nothing to show, can anyone give me a positive steer please?

    regards. Sean

I used html to add the "Products" bit in, and just copied the formatting from the other one. E.g. the Brands bit contains the catalog and the products bit contains a load of urls that point to search queries. The problem with that of course is that the search has to be for e.g. "Shirt" but that shows everything that has the word shirt in including suits that work well with *** Shirt. THe way to get around that is to create a variable in actinic which i called "GarmentType" and make it searchable. This gives you a nice drop down in the general tab which you can search by. That way the urls can run search parameters which look for GarmentType=Shirt.

I put the html for all this in the "start of list" box under list layout settings (click on the brands text on the page bit in design mode and the click the "Click here to edit list layout settings"

If i was doing it again, id probably try to get the GarmentTypes variable to generate the list, but because there can only be a certain number of types of garment, its not that big of a deal for us.

      Not perfect, but it works!

I do this to create a pseudo link tag similar to blogs, digg etc... effective but a pain to remember to assign the UDV when creating new products.
