    Newbie colour questions

Hello, I'm a couple of days in to designing with Actinic. I've been playing with some colours and there's a couple of things I can't get quite right:

My form background is white, and I would like black text in the forms, but I want white text generally on the site because it has a blue colour theme. How can I have black text in the forms and white everywhere else?

Also, what controls the colour of the links in the footer?

    Cheers

Actinic Stylesheet (actinic.css) controls all the colours and alignments of the theme design.

Click the 'Design' tab. Then select Actinic Stylesheet from the 'Select Page Type' list. Change the appropriate 'font-color' code for each css variable.

Not strictly true - the colours are initially inserted into the actinic.css and theme.css layouts from within Actinic.

Design > Themes > Advanced Theme Config > Colour Scheme

There you can play with the colours that then get inserted into the stylesheets. You can edit them directly as Grant suggests but that will remove the option to edit inside Actinic.

I would use the method jont describes until you are more familiar with the software. Also in v9 there is a design wizard which may simplify things for you

Actinic support helped me out a bit, but I thought I should post the results here.

The colour of the footer was controlled by Palette Colour 3.

The form I was talking about was the quick search toolbar. This was using a style called Quick Search Bar With Larger Button. I looked up the code in the stylesheet and changed the color there - so it is hard coded to black rather than using a variable.

          Sorted.

A couple of very useful tools to see what is coming from where is to use Firefox with the Web Developer and FireBug plug-ins ... you can hover over the part of the page you need info on and the code is displayed... this makes finding stuff in the actinic.css a far easier task.
