    Automatic Order checking

I;m surprised not to have found this...

Is it possible to get actinic to automatically check for new orders?

I've been looking at actinet, but it seems useless without auto order download?

You can, but only by a plugin at the moment available off Mole End, something that should certainly be added to the software IMO. I wonder why it never has been .

Not at my Actinic PC at the moment, but I thought you could create a batch file and call Actinic using switches that automatically did things like uploads/downloads etc.

You can do this Goz, however it won't handle Actinic's dialog boxes gracefully as Mole End's product does.

Fergus - I should have mentioned that in my post. But looks like Matt's happy enough.

Am i missing something here, how does the command line sit there all day downloading and uploading your site every 30 mins or so? Isn't that a one off command and one we normally use to get around being locked out on a particular site or something?

                      Lee,
you simply pop the command line into a windows batch file
                      e.g.
                      DownloadOrders.bat

and then set a scheduled task in windows to run the batch file at whatever interval you desire.
You could have a number of these batch files for uploading, downloading, switching sites, closing actinic etc and have them running whenever you require.

Well i never knew that, cheers mate. It has always been a bail me out of trouble option til now, excellent. If Actinic get the error messaging more controllable which i think Chris has mentioned they will look into, then it sounds like an excellent solution. Coupled with enhanced FTP, custom retries and timings, i reckon it would be pretty good anyway.

                        Thanks Sharkey.
