    www and non www

    Hi

I'm getting a problem with my shopping cart - I know why it's happening but don't know how to solve it?

Basically, when I first go to the online store it's at www.mystore.co.uk and I can then add products to the basket etc with no problems. As soon as I go to 'View basket' and click the 'Continue' button or 'Home' nav link etc the store goes to mystore.co.uk (no www)??

How can I force the whole store to use www please?

    Regards

    Jason

Check your network settings only use www URLs, and refresh the site

      Hi,

      Thanks for prompt reply.

I've checked Network Settings and Catalog URL and CGI-BIN URL are set to use www as is the Website URL.

Also I've just noticed that when you add something to the shopping basket and wait for it to automatically take you back to the store it then loses the www??

      Regards

add a htaccess file to the root folder (needs to be linux / unix servers)

search the forum there is a post covering htaccess and www non www

          1. Clear the actinic cookie on your PC as if you've entered in the past with using www. then it might be remembering it.

          2. Make sure that you haven't hard coded any links without the www.

          3. do what Darren says about using an htaccess file.

          4. failing that give us a url to investigate.

            Hi,

Thanks everyone - I think it was an old cookie problem (cheers olderscot). I cleared cookies on my pc and it now works fine although trying it on another pc isn't but I'll investigate further.

            Regards
