    Actinic Crashing - Exporting Snapshot

    Hi,
I am having troubles exporting our Site Snapshot. We do it basically every day and it runs quickly and efficiently. But since yesterday Actinic crashes half way through the export.

No drastic changes have been made either, except adding a bit of PHP for the maths with Variables.

We are using Vista and when we use the task manager to see what is holding things up we have like 50 "Actinic Sychronisation Server" each using about 1400kb memory.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Sanpshot crashes.

    1) Do you get any error messages from the snapshot process?
    2) Does it save any sort of snapshot at all? Even a 0 byte length one?
    3) Have you tried comacting the database?
    4) Have you tried to refresh or update the website? If so were there any page or coding errors reported?
It sounds like you are using business plus version, so other than trying these I may not be much help as I'm only used to catalogue and business.

      Hi Steve,
We get no error messages from Actinic when we export the snapshot.
About a few minutes into it, the whole system slows down (PC - dual core, 1gb ram) and in the end you have to cut the power off to sort it out.

Tried it again after compacting the database and no change.

We get an error message from windows when we try to open task manager:

      ActSyncSvr.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (OXC0000142)

Click OK to terminate the application

      Thanks

      PS. Using Actinic Business 9.0.0.0.0.0.ICLA

        Snapshot error.

I don't like the sound of that. Neither I'm sorry to say do I have an answer. However it does sound very much like a corrupted database. Do you have an earlier snapshot you can go back to maybe? Apart from that I can only suggest actinic support team, that bit of HEX in the error message may tell a story.

Yeh its a bit of a bugger! I will get hold of support. The thing is we are adding products all the time, taking pre-orders so we dont want to go back just yet.

Will let you know what happens.

          Thanks for your help

Remove the code change you made before the snapshot failed

You should only have one synchronisation server running, if you have 50, I would try stopping the server in admin services and then kill of any extras you have. Then restart all of the machines running actinic and start Actinic again, making sure that only one synchronisation server is running.
