Snapshot from XP not working with Vista

Is anyone succesfully managing to export a snapshot from V9 (business) on an XP machine to V9 (business) on a Vista machine?

When I do a site preview on the Vista machine most of the pages seem to be missing. I presume it is something to do with the fact that Actinic stores its files under 'Program Files' in XP and 'Documents' in Vista.

have you tried reinstalling Actinic on your XP machine, selecting to locate your site folders in Documents, rather than Program Files?

I never noticed that option during the install so I will give it a go tonight.

Just had a thought.

If I can't do a snapshot into Vista because of the Site folder location then presumably it will not work if I reinstall the XP version.

except you might be able to reinstall V9 on your XP machine with the site folder in Documents, re-export a snapshot and then attempt an import into V9 on your Vista machine.

I have to admit, I don't have any experience of this personally so I'm just making suggestions.

Andy i have not had any problems taking snapshots from XP in to vista, i have only taken V8 sites from xp in to V9 on vista though, not tried V9 to V9

tend to upgrade the pc when a new version of actinic comes out, i will see about installing v9 on an xp machine and see what happens if i take the snapshot from here

You maybe be better calling support though, they can identify DB problems from you snapshot

I will have a go at reinstalling on XP tonight hopefully (been a busy few days) and let you know how I get on. I will probably take a full copy of the sites folder and paste that into the new location after reinstalling.

I would very much like to upgrade our laptop every time a new version of Actinic comes out but the bank balance woudn't like it after shelling out the best part of a grand for V9 Business

Working now. Have reinstalled Actinic on the XP box storing files within My Documents then snapshotted into the Vista box.

Only problem I have now is with the hard coded links not working under the site preview, Looks like I'll have to install a web server on this machine as per the AUG.
