PayPal Pro making an order from actinic

    hi all,

We use paypal pro as our psp. I wondered, if we wanted, if we create an order in actinic software, with cc details etc, would actinic pass the order through the psp to take the money from the customers account? presumably on the next upload?

hopefully this isn't a stupid question!

    No it won't.

I'm not sure why you would want to try?

Can't you just put the details into your website as if you were the punter and process the order from there?

Your way sounds like a lot of unnecessary work to me.

Does Paypal Pro not have a virtual terminal then? (I admit, I thought it did)
The 'normal' way of processing card payments like this would be to use the 'Credit card details sent separately' payment option (which is accurate) and process the credit card through a virtual terminal which is, often, the only way to place the order without requiring 3d secure verification (which it may need if you take the other suggestion of 'pretending' to be the customer and doing it that way)

        Thanks for your response.

        My reasoning...

We get lots of calls asking about alternative products, e.g. shoes in brown instead of black. These aren't on the site for various reasons. I would like to add the order directly from actinic so that i can ammend it before i send the receipt.

Its a short term goal until all the stock is online.

        Thanks anyway.

Yep, virtual terminal is our best option atm.

its just the lack of integration with actinic that bugs me.

          Soo.....

what actually happens when i add an order in actinic and select PSP as the payment option?

Nothing, except you will end up with your order in the 'PSP Pending' tab until you process the payment and manually enter it into the order

and yes, Jesters is my husband's site.
