    Buffer Overrun Detected!

    Using Multisite version 8.5.2 on Win XP

    Every time i try to run a site snapshot for backup i get error :

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Buffer Overrun Detected!
    Program: C:\Program Files\Actinic\Catalog.exe
    A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
    internal state. The Program cannot safely continue execution and must
    now be terminated.

    with OK button on it

    Any ideas ?

    Thx

    I'd raise a support ticket for this with Actinic.

      I am using v853_IDHB on XP:

      Similarly, whenever I try to run a site snapshot for backup I get error :

      Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
      Buffer Overrun Detected!
      Program: C:\Program Files\Actinic\Catalog.exe
      A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
      internal state. The Program cannot safely continue execution and must
      now be terminated.

      with OK button on it

        As well as the error stated, before that appears a dialog box (named Business Client) appears which states 'No Error Occurred'?

        I have to 'OK' that then the backing up of the site continues for a while before the 'Buffer Overrun Detected' error?

        Any ideas anyone?

            So, from my previous post, I thought I'd better do a backup, only to find another error -- "Buffer overrun detected!"

            Any news on this one?

            I can't work like this ...

              Simon, sorry to hear about your problems.

              The best I can suggest is to try compacting the database just in case there's an error in there somewhere.

                Already tried this ... didn't make any difference.

                  Do you get the "No Error Occurred" dialog box as well? Because there are posts and a solution regarding this in threads from the last few days.

                  -- edit --

                  I see you did have this error.

                    Why not try upgrading to 8.5.3?

                      Actinic - Buffer Overrun - Help!

                      Did you ever manage to resolve the issue?

                      I have exactly the same issue currently with my site, and have sent the error to actinic, but have not yet received a response.

                      Any assistance would be appreciated
