    SRC= Problem !!!

I've upgraded from V7 (single Site) to V9 (multi Site), I got some help from Actinic Cover (they made the 1st V9 edition of my site from a V7 snapshot) but there are a large number of manual adjustments I am having to make & When i try to save a snapshot of latest changes I get the error message:

Warning: The HTML templates specify source files (with "SRC=" commands) that reside in directories other than the Online Store Folder on the web site. Actinic can not handle these files and they are being omitted from the list of files to upload.

No source files in the templates should have a path. Store them in the site specific directory locally, and they will be uploaded to the Actinic web directory.
My guess at the cause is it might be the images I had in V7 additional files & called up in text fragments by "img src" html code for a clickable image link, but I am not sure.

Can anyone put me straight on the cause & give a suggestion on how to fix?

What its telling you is that you have images in directories other than actinic, it is saying it can not upload these files.

Basically i guess you had you images saved in another folder in your v7 site, v9 cant find these.

    hope this helps

Go through your images and place them and their address into the site 1 folder "or whatever you have called it"

All my own images seemed to be saved in a directory path not within Actinic V9, so I copied all the files & folders in question into the Actinic V9 file & hoped this would sort the problem but it did not.

I hope there will be a quicker way than reassigning hundreds of images & additional files manually 1 by 1 to fix this. Does anyone know?

If you have and know Access, you can do an update query to fix the Image FileName field in the Product table within ActinicCatalog.mdb. If you use Extended Info Images, then it's the sExtendedInfoImage field. Look at a correctly placed image to see what the entries should look like. Backup first!

Had a go at this by opening the database in Access, copied the columns that looked relevant in the products table & additional files table into Excel to make the changes. Copied the changes back to Access & saved the mdb file back into site 1.

The problem does not seem to be sorted. this time I had 1 warning & over 400 errors of the nature:

(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 456) - The file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Actinic v9\Sites\Site1\Sites\Site1\Own\Photo\WB\WSP101M.gif was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
This own\photo directory path is where I copied all the images to from V7.

                Sites\Site1\Sites\Site1

... is that correct or doubled up?

Yes, Site 1 was doubled up.

I have spent ages trying to fix this unsuccessfully so set up a test site which has the same problem with additional files & the root of the problem seems to be that when I add an additional file Actinic is always defaulting to a directory path different to the expected path in the quote below.

                  Warnings
This site includes files that are outside the Actinic installation directory.
On importing the site these files will be delivered to a temporary location within the Actinic installation directory.
Manual intervention will be required to restore the site after import.

                  C:\Program Files\Actinic v9\Sites\crystal-deodorant\TigerCowry.gif
instead It is defaulting to the directory path where I store backups for all my other applications.

I change the additional file directory path when i add the additional file but when saving a snapshot I still get the error quoted above.

How can i make Actinic point to the Actinic v9\Sites as a default? for all my images & additional files?

The software should do this by default and there isn't anywhere to set it in the UI. I think that there might be some references to the wrong path in the database so if you are able I would suggest you take a look in the ActinicCatalog.mdb file and check the following tables that contain image fields (take a backup first):

                    BrochureFragments
                    BrochurePages
                    Catalog section
FileList (the contents of this table can be deleted but the site will require a refresh if you do this)
                    Product

Hi all, new to Actinic and this is my first post, but I have a similar problem.

                      SRC error is identical.

Thought it may be worth mentioning here as I can tell you exactly what's caused my error (although I'm not sure how to fix it)?

All I have done to generate the error message is create several folders within '/site1' to house product thumbs and product images seperately.

I've setup a couple of test products, referenced the subfolder location and when doing a preview it all appears fine.

Then, when I try to take a snapshot the error occurs, and I don't know what will and won't be copied over at this stage.

Two questions really? 1) am I supposed to keep all my images within the 'site1' route folder [mmm very messy potentially], and 2) if it's OK to hold the image archive in seperate folders, how (in V9.1) do I tell Actinic to include these files in the site snapshot??

Didn't intend to pinch the thread it all just seems so similar and perhaps it's better someone answers here than in split threads repeatedly?

Sorry if it deserved a new thread? As a new user, first timer & being politically unstable = I'm rather green

Any complimentary advice would be sincerely appreciated.

                        Welcome, Steve

This is a pertinent thread to post in as your problem seems similar to the OP.

You should be able to keep your images within sub-folders of your Site1 one. this is the best way to do things. As this seems to be problematical for you the following would help us to help.

                        Tell us:

                        Your version of Actinic

Whether you upgraded from and earlier version

Where your Sites folder is located within your system (full path please).

If the answer to the above is not within Program Files, please also look in Program Files\Actinic v9 and tell us there's a Sites folder there as well.

Also it may help to search your drive for ActinicCatalog.mdb and tell us if you find more than one and where.

I have checked out all these & all files seem to be pointing to the sub folders I have set up within Site1.

In the filelist table, Path field, all the entries begin with
                          %7bSITE%7d
Could this be a potential problem, if so does anyone know how to fix?

Could it be that the upgrade has gone wrong & I need to start again from scratch? I shudder at the thought of those potentially lost hours.

It's very frustrating having bought V9 & not being able to use it.

The FileList table is internally generated by Actinic and shouldn't be tinkered with. What you see there is normal.

If you look in the Product table, the Image FileName entries should be relative to your site folder. E.g. mypicture.jpg for a file in Site1 and ProductImages\myprodpic.jpg for one in a sub-folder of your site.

Sorry to resurect this thread again, I've been having the same issue on a new V9.02 site!

After experimenting with different settings I noticed that the problem for me is caused by having an image in Extended information.
I can stop the problem occurring though by un-ticking the Generate pop-up page.

Surely if the image position within the directory is the issue then the problem should occur under both situations.

Is there something else that would case it?

Can anyone help as I wanted to use Pop-ups

                              Chris
