More info on what 'Order Quantity Always One' does?

As I am loath to try something out before I fully understand it could anyone confirm what Order Quantity Always One option does in Business Settings > Ordering please?

What I am hoping it does is remove the quantity box from my products and from the shopping cart. As I do not wan't customers to order 2 or more of one orderline, rather I want multiple items to appear as individual order lines. Is this what the option does?

When you open the window you will see a ? at the top right, click on it and then click on the area you are not sure about, it will give you a summary of what it does. It's a great little feature and really helps at times.
