    Terms & Conditions Page - 8.5.3 Bug?

    Recently upgraded our site www.paragon-matrix.com with the 8.5.3 patch as recommended by actinic to solve some issues we have been having around creating a snapshot (getting errors when this process is selected).

    However after doing the upgrade, customers are now telling us that they can’t get to our terms and conditions page as part of the checkout process where a link to the terms and conditions page is shown next to the field that they have check saying “I accept the Terms and Conditions displayed” On clicking this link it has a url of http://www.paragon-matrix.com/acatalog/infolines clicking the link it comes up with The webpage cannot be found. We have refreshed the site but still the same issue.

    This was working ok before the upgrade. Can anyone point us in the right direction to investigate or fix this issue?

    Hi Phil,

    Have you removed the terms & conditions acceptance box as I can't see it at all on your website. You should try reverting the 'Order 01 bulk area' and 'Terms and Conditions Agreed' layouts back to factory settings to see if that helps.

      Hi Tracey,

      Yes, as we could not solve the issue we had to remove the checking the box agreeing to our terms and conditions as customers clicking the link could not get to the terms and conditions. As this was stopping most customers finishing their purchase we had to uncheck it in the business setiings.

      How do we reverting the 'Order 01 bulk area' and 'Terms and Conditions Agreed' layouts back to factory settings and does this mean all the terms and conditions we have typed in will be lost?

        Go into the 'Design | Library | Layouts tab' and right-click on the layouts and select 'revert to factory settings' ('Order 01 bulk area' is in 'Web page Inner Layouts' group and 'Terms and Conditions Agreed' is in 'Checkout Area').

        does this mean all the terms and conditions we have typed in will be lost?
        No, it only resets the layout and not what you have typed into the interface.

          Hi Tracey,

          Opps - Sorry to say it’s altered a number of things that I did not want:

          1. The "Ship to separate delivery address:" does not work and now goes around in a loop.
          2. Optional Taxes now comes in but as we don’t ship out of the UK
          3. "Please Select A Shipping Method From The Drop Down Box. You may select any of the carriage options displayed below." - We don't want this as an option as we have a standard charge for shipping.

          URGENT: How do we get it back to our previous state as this will stop us taking orders!!

            Just import your last snapshot (excluding the orders on 4th screen if you have taken any orders since the snapshot was originally taken), hopefully you took one before you started playing.

              "Houston looks like we have a real problem now" - We have been unable to take a snapshot for 4 weeks, have raised a support query with actinic 4 weeks ago but are still to get a resolution to this. Thus my question to Tracey - "does this mean all the terms and conditions we entered will be lost?" but I did not think about extra fields would be added.

              We have now managed to take a snapshot on the Vista system (without backup errors) and transferred the snapshot to an XP laptop system using the same version of actinic but this still fails and drops out with errors. Thus I am reluctant to use this snapshot back on the vista system.

              Looks like I've got a bit of a mess here now!

                Where do you set the different fields in the checkout process, Is it html or cgi generated or are there some fields in the business settings that I can alter?

                  Managed to remove and change the extra taxes, shipping and delivery fields. The action suggested by Tracey has reset the link to the terms and conditions information and now works well. Thank you - Tracey and Lee for your input and help.
