I've added it to a live real-world site, so if anyone wants a peek it's on www.snowlines.co.uk
I'll leave it running for a few days and if no problems crop up, it'll soon become a product.Norman - www.drillpine.biz

It would be easy to add in additional code so that it also operated on a user Variable. E.g. sort by mileage, age, etc.Norman - www.drillpine.biz

Mal,
I've now tested adding in the capability of sorting on a custom variable, and all it needs is 4 lines changed - so will quite do-able.
Lee,
It's running live on a real site (www.snowlines.co.uk) since yesterday. If no problems develop after a few days real-world use, I'll add it to my list of patches.Norman - www.drillpine.biz

Norman,
I like the idea of the patch and will contact you once I have upgraded to V9.
I think that I may have found a bug.
If you go direct to a product using a link like this http://www.snowlines.co.uk/acatalog/...S.html#a008100
It goes to the exact product which is correct, however, when you then change the order of display you will still be taken back to that product where ever it is listed on the page. You may have gone direct to the most expensive item on the page via a search and opt to show the cheapest first. This will sort the page but it will move you to the bottom of the page meaning that you have to scroll back up.
It would seem that you some how need to remove the #+code from the url
Kind regards
Jason

Hi, Jason
That's deliberate behaviour. I thought like this:
Someone goes to a specific product via the best sellers with a particular sort chosen. Then they want to see the same product but where it stands within a different sort.
UPDATE:
I've changed it now so that you stay on the button you click when sorting.Norman - www.drillpine.biz

Will this work on a search results page?
So implying that you're sorting by price when you're really only sorting the current displayed sub-list could be misleading.Norman - www.drillpine.biz

It's currently for product pages only so not much point sorting a single item.
Of course it could be rejigged to work on Section pages too but that would require a new (but similar) bit of code.Norman - www.drillpine.biz
