    Actinic Site - Error..

I'm not exactly sure what the hell i did but some how i've destroyed my actinic site...

I can't load it, it gave me some table error on load, now it's giving me some

"Unable to locate the Database for the selected site. The site will remain unchanged"

And then actinic does not load.

My site is fully uploaded, is there a way i can just download the site from its domain and insert it into actinic some way?

    Regards,

No. All you can recover are the images - the rest are built up from the database which does not appear online.

Reinstate yesterdays ACD snapshot to recover your site.

Before you ask any more - please take a step backwards and think about learning to help yourself.

I suggested you look up the error message you encountered - and attempt to resolve it by seeing how others have resolved this common error.

do this - and if you still have a problem you will be able to tell us what you have done to rectify the fault. We can then suggest other more unique remedies

And whilst you are taking time out to have a think also think about a backup schedule

I mean if you are not taking snapshots of your work via Actinic you must surely be incorporating these as part of a standalone backup routine... backing up to a mirrored drive, flash stick, remote service such as Carbonite etc. I would have thought this is standard practice for a web design professional?

Hmm, someone doesn't read... To lookup the error i would need to use the search function yes?...

Well, as i stated before the search function is not working, I type in
"Unable to locate the Database" it says

"The search term you specified (to) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific."

When i'm typing 5 words into the search.

I've tried even typing more and less words and still getting the same error.

I don't have time to search through every forum page because the search is not working to try and find my error, when there are people on this forum that already know how to fix it but are to ignorant to help.

I'm busy working on atleast 3 sites at once for different companies, i forget to backup actinic now and then so I've done 2 - 3 other changed to my site after my last backup, there not huge ones so i can do them again...

I just need to know how to get actinic to startup again...

I have entered that into the Google search box (next to where it says welcome top right) and it returns a list of threads. The forum server has moved recently and it looks like the inbuilt search is knackered. The google search should find what you need though.

I didn't realise the google search went through the forum. I'll give it a try, thanks

it uses the site: functionality so restricts a general search to only the forum
