Emptying the Cart when Customers Cancel

    Hi

I have set this up from the AUG and it works fine, BUT....

I am using PPPro and I added Actinic ssl, which created a new secure page where customers input their card details and click on 'next' to send it to Paypal. However, if they select 'cancel' they are taken back to the product page and in this situation, the cart is not emptied. Until the customer presses 'next', no order is processed or can be retrieved as a PSP pending, so I can't see why the 'clearout' wouldn't work on this page if they 'cancel', as it does on all the other checkout pages.

I cannot find any similar posts on this, but does anyone else have this problem? Can it be fixed or is it another checkout problem for the wish list?

    Thanks

    Helen

I am not quite sure what this means. If an order is cancelled before completion the shopping cart is not emptied.
The cart is only emptied upon completion of a successful order.

I have set up 'empty the cart when people leave the checkout' AUG p99.
So if a customer changes their mind and selects cancel, the items are cleared from the basket. This is working ok unless they select 'cancel' from the payments page and in this case it doesn't clear the basket, so I was querying why it would work on all the other checkout pages and not this one.

        Hi Helen,

Do you mean from the Actinic Shared SSL page? If so then it won't work from this page because this page doesn't use the same layouts as the rest of your site so it doesn't contain the javascript that your other checkout pages have. I'm afraid that you can't edit this page either.

          Hi Tracey

Yes it is the sll shared page. Shame, but thanks for letting me know. Tech Support told me it worked on their systems and should work on mine and I couldn't see where I was going wrong. At least I can stop wasting my time on it now.
          Thanks.
