Product info input as attributes (or similar)

The site sells thousands of types of hose and each hose has different attributes (I.D., O.D. etc. etc.).

I have seen on another Actinic store that these qualities can be typed into Actinic itself (rather than typing them one by one and over and over again into the Product Description field, as is the case now.

The qualities are then displayed on the product page in a table.

Can someone please point me in the right direction so I can do this with my site?

I think you may be thinking of "custom variables" ... you set up the product layout with the caption eg OD, ID etc and then against each product on the property tab you input the value eg 10mm, 15mm etc. Once set up you only need to input the values specific to that product - the caption text is added automatically.
