Loading an external page- is this possible?

We have some products that are available in a lot of different configurations on a supply to order basis only. We do however carry stock of about 100 different combinations due to exchanges and returns and wish to show which combinations are currently in stock at any given moment.

This stock is changing constantly through the day so showing what is available at any particular time is not possible with Actinic due to the time that an upload takes. We feel that if we could list which items were in stock this would lead to increased sales to people that do not wish to wait, also reducing our tied up stock.

What I would like to do is create a very basic stock list which we can ftp in a few seconds, but some how load this into a fragment on a page within Actinic. We could then have a live stock page that changes available combinations as we make the changes.

    Is this possible, any ideas?

    Many thanks

    Jason

Print the stock report to pdf, upload that and link to it from a fragment.

I did think of that but to be honest I don't like PDF documents, when faced with one I am not usually that eager to continue on a website.

The list would only be valid for the exact time it was shown. A PDF document may be downloaded, thought about and the item could be out of stock by time the client ordered but they would still expect it to be in stock.

I would also wish it to fit into the main section of the page so that it looks seamless.

      Many thanks

Javascript include then I would suggest. Perhaps you could upload a csv file and this gets read and presented accordingly.

I have managed to get this working with Javascript, thanks lee for the idea.

I have inserted the script into a fragment and the information is just typed into a blank page in Front-page and uploaded.

Needs refining but basically does the job.

          Many thanks

An iframe would be another idea which would load in an external html page which you could modify. Or flash paper which will do a similar job as a pdf BUT will show similar to an iframe and allow zoom search print etc

I think this script is using an Iframe, hadn't heard of that until today.

This is it working here http://www.quality-titanium.co.uk/ac...s-Instock.html Early days yet, just testing.
