Can anyone shed some light on this problem...
We’re using Business multisite v8.
As I understand it the upload process goes like this: The site pages are created in the sitehtml directory and then copied from there to the website. Not sure where the site home page comes from as it doesn’t seem to appear here (same in other sites I’ve looked at). Please correct me if I’m barking up the wrong tree.
The problem I have is that the catalog index page (the would be acatalog/index.html) generated here is being overwritten by a “copy” of the site home page (the would be /index.html) before the upload. Not only that, the basehref in this second file is pointing at a completely different domain. This is causing a problem or two when the site is uploaded.
If I change the name of the catalog "top" index to index.htm (no L) then I get two files here, the correct catalog index (with the htm ext.) and the odd page (with the .html ext and the basehref going to the wrong domain.)
The actual site homepage on the web gets uploaded ok.
I’m doing a manual fix and FTP’ing a couple of files to the site as a temporary work around. It works, but it’s not 100%. I’ve checked the web settings and all ok, even re-imported a known good set. I’ve restored a known good backup and the problem still exists. I’m managing other sites with the same setup and they’re not affected.
Not sure how to fix it, and where on Earth did that other domain name in the basehref come from?
Any ideas what’s going on. I’m foxed.
Regards
David
