    Accessing Hidden Pages

I want to hide a product so it doesn't appear on the site, but can be reached by somebody typing in the page's URL in a browser.

For instance, I have a product page with an item called 'ad-hoc payment' which allows people to pay for pre-quoted items. To use this method of payment, I send them the link (i.e. www.company.com\acatalog\adhoc.html) for the customer to send their card details to us.

Does anyone know a way of doing this that someon who knows nothing about html can cope with?

    I'm using v9 Business.

    Many thanks.

upload the page as normal, then hide it and upload again. It will still be there when you check.

    classic actinic bug.

You can add a section to your catalog, then add this product within it and then exclude that section from showing in either the menu or the sitemap. It gets uploaded then and exists on the site, but has no links pointing to it so will not be spidered or known about. But with no actinic knowledge i think it'd be a hard task tbh.

Belt and braces approach would be to blockif a no index for the spiders in the <head> of that particular section

It's not the spiders or search engines I'm particularly worried about, I just want to hide the product from people browsing the website whilst at the same time allowing them to go to the page if I send them the page's URL.

If anyone's interested, you can see my clumsy attempts to achieve this at http://www.lawrence.co.uk/acatalog/a...l_payment.html

We have a similar product here http://www.qualitysilver.co.uk/acata...justments.html

We have tucked it away under our information section and only ever send a link to it when needed. So far we have not had any one use it who has not been sent there.
