In Norman's lightbox addon, he creates a new Tab in the actinic GUI called "lightbox"

can someone please tell me/direct me to a method, how to do this.

    Thanks

Its part of the create variable facility, have a look at 'tab name' in the middle of the process.

When you create your variable you can select a new Panel Name.

I've tried to create a new variable...

I see the tab selection dropdown, but no option to create a new tab?

Click the button just to the right of the Panel Name drop down marked New Panel and you can type the name of a new Panel.

ok, i definitely don't have that button.

I'm on V8 business (8.5.1) if that makes any difference?

Sorry the info I gave was for v9 - although it's very similar for v8.

For v8 just next to the drop down for the Group is a button that says New Group.

It's 'new tab' you are after (halfway down the window) IMO. Surely you can see the label 'Tab Name' and the button next to it saying 'New Tab'? Screenshot attached although i might be missing the point here as i don't understand how you cannot see that part without asking.

                          Hi

It's only users of Business Plus or Designer that have the ability to create new tabs in this way I'm afraid. This was originally done because we only figured that people creating sites for other people would want this ability. Looking back on this though, it does seem rather arbitrary, and I think this is maybe one look at again.

Sorry that isn't much help to you though.

You on some kind of demo version? very strange.

EDIT: Sorry Matt, I never knew that til just now myself. If you can get a designer to set it up their end and send you a design snapshot, that might be a way round it for the time being.

                              Ok,

Thanks to both of you for your replys...

Chris - this would be really helpful, when I eventually pass on the site to the next designer I want the GUI to be a simple as possible so that their required knowledge of actinic can be as mimimal as possible. This aside, it would be really nice to be able (in this case) to create a tab for my own variables. Should i move this into the wishlist or is it enough that your on it?

                              leehack - will do, thanks.
