'threads and patches' in google i come up at the top so easy to find if you knw my name!
Also having the title tag of your home page as "Home" will not help at all. At the minimum change it to your business name in page settings

Changed and uploading as I type. I looked at the Webmaster instructions in Google, and have verifiesd the site. It asks for a site map, found asite that generates them but it only listed the brochure pages none of the shop / product pages is ther an easy way to do this?

Thanks once again, where would I be....

That's probably becuae you are using CGI links. If you just put a link to your sitemap on your homepage (I couldn't see one) then adding the G sitemap may not be of any additional benefit.

If you want to create an xml sitemap then first add an Actinic sitemap link to your homepage ( http://www.threadsandpatches.co.uk/a...g/sitemap.html ) then run the generator again. ( http://www.xml-sitemaps.com )

I would not bother with the google site map but add a link to your actinic sitemap as duncan suggests.

Also Places to Go and Stay
www.information-britain.co.uk is a broken link - get rid of it. The other link at the bottom of the page opens in the same window and will take people away from your site. make it open in a new window or move it to another page eg a links page

Does Actinic automatically generate a site map somewhere? I have never created one and cannot find any clear instructions in the help file. I tried the link you put in, but again only generated a site map of the existing brochure pages not of the shop.

I must be missing something here.

            Thanks

Actinic does generate a sitemap page but it does not (by default) include your brochure pages.

Your sitemap link is in my earlier post above.

Ok Thanks, have run the generator and exceeded the 500 pages!

Tried to submit general sitemap to google but failed with following message
                'URL restricted by robots.txt
We encountered an error while trying to access your Sitemap. Please ensure your Sitemap follows our guidelines and can be accessed at the location you provided and then resubmit.'

presumably I just have to keep trying until the bot has found my site is open now.

Thank you will keep at it!

Don't try any further, just leave it for a few days and then check to see if the bots have paid you a visit. Continually trying to add your sitemap will not help.

change your link to include the www

essentially http://yoursite is different to http://www.yoursite

make sure every link you generate includes the www otherwise you will be adding confusion and diluting the effectiveness

Your right column is wrapping and displayed at the bottom left of the website, probably a coding error.

Check your widths, something being too wide is the cause of this 99% of the time.

                            Site Widths

Unsure how to alter these, tried playing in general tab under settings, tried reducing size, this shot the cart box and other right hand box to left, tried larger, they stayed on left with big gap below main area, now doesn't seeem to want to go back to how it was, have not uploaded -mystified, what should I try now?

Download firefox and firebug, it allows you to see the code in real time and change it in real time when you click on the 'inspect' option. This is what a developer would instantly go to when correcting your site, see if you can use it, a great tool. It has to be a width either applied to a <div> container, a table cell or maybe even an image too wide for the area it has to work in, you can be almost 100% sure that it is a width issue though, so look nowhere else.

Not on this one - this theme uses a table not CSS. This one is due to a stray table tag.
