    Dreamweaver CS3 extension failure

    Hello all,

I have done a search on this already but not found anything that matches my specific problem.

When installing actinic and the dreamweaver extension, I received an error message that read MX or above must be installed. I have CS3 installed.

Is this a bug with V9/CS3 or some error specific to my installation?

    Many thanks in advance!

Have you installed the DW extension manager though?

If you have and it didn't load then you can locate the mxp file in the installed Actinic directories (can't remember the exact directory off-hand) and double click it to try and install it that way.

Did you install CS3 clean or was it an upgrade?

        Hi there,

Yes it was a clean install of CS3, and yes I have tried the manager (.mxp file) - it returns the same message about CS3 as the initial installation

          Hi

I would be inclined to uninstall the EM and reinstall the latest version (1.8)

You can grab a copy from our helpdesk (link in sig) for free and try this. Once you have done this let us know if this resolves the issue.

          Thanks

            Hi there,

I tried that to no avail, I'm afraid. Still saying "Actinic requires Dreamweaver MX or greater...."

            Darn it.

            Thanks

How many versions of the extension manager have you got installed?

ie did you have a previous version of DW installed with an earlier EM?

Hello again, I managed to get the extention manager to register Actinic. Unfortunately I am still having a problem getting it to work.

When I click on the Actinic menu in DW, this is what I get:

Any ideas? I am using the trial of Actinic, I am waiting for funds to clear before I purchase the full version. Should this make a difference?

                Many thanks in advance.

                Oliver

some functions of v9 have been restricted that were ok in v8. Your best bet is to call actinic who will help I'm sure.

Ignore the greyed out drop down, that should come into play when you license..in the meantime, if you have Act V9 open and DW CS3, just click on the Edit Layout In DW (in Act) and the code will show up in DW all hunky doory

                      Ok, sorted....

You must save a file in DW before the menu becomes usable. Fair enough!

                      Thanks for your replies guys.
