    Setting Up Analytic Goals

    Hi Forum

I have searched trying to find an answer for this but cant seem to find the exact answer, so apologies in advance if it has been answered already.

So I have used V9 to setup Google Analytics (very easy) and am recieving the standard information but now want to track the conversions and orver values etc.

So my question is, do I do this in Actinic, or do I use the Analytics 'Goal Settings' pages? If so, what URL should i be using and what filters (and again what URLs) should I set up?

    Hope that makes sense?

    Thanks in advance

    J

I am in the process of doing the same thing and think you may find the following page useful.

I have only had a quick look but I think Actinic uses the same URL for each stage of the checkout so you have to use some 'dummy' URLs

Am i being dumb, but does V9 not automatically add the required code to the relevant conversion pages? When I browse my site i see the tracking code layouts against the pages so i thought it might just happen?

Would I still need to set the goals funneling up in google itself? Or should I be replicating Eileens V8 guide?

Don't use Eileen's v8 guide. You don't need it any more. Just go to 'Marketing | Google Analytics' and enter your FULL Google Analytics number in there (i.e. the one that ends in '-1' (or '-2', '-3'. etc.)

There is already a goal set up for the receipt in the code that comes by default in the layouts.

Search in the help for 'Google' and you'll find some instructions about setting up the goal for the receipt and a funnel for the shopping cart.

Nice one, thanks Chris. So the code is in the site already, but just to confirm I do need to set Analytics up to track the goals, correct?
** Sorry, misread the post above, you mentioned search Actinic for 'google' to get the instructions. Ill try that now!
