How do I sell/allocate places at an event using Catalog V8

I would like to be able to sell/allocate places at events.

Can this be done in my version and where will I find guidance on how to do this and best practice to be employed.

I currently have an online shop selling publications and pdf files.

    Hi Huw

    What version are you using?

This can be accomplished in Actinic if I am understanding you correctly (I can buy a place at an event on 1.07.08 etc?)

You can set them up as simple products and take the order that way. If you are using shipping then you can set to exclude. I use this system on http://www.cookingexpert.co.uk/acata...strations.html

One of my favourite sites is the timesonline and I must admit that the text style, colours etc appeal to my tastes and yours is akin (not the same BTW nit saying that)

            Good design is timeless mate.

I quite like a smattering of serifed font for titles .. pig to read in paragraphs on screen but as a block call it can be effective as not always used.
