Looking for advice on bulk buy and discounts.

Hi everyone,

I am building a new website at the moment in V9 and i am looking for some advice on a few things:

1. I want to give customers (ones that have customer accounts) a different offering. Customers with accounts will be able to buy in bulk and if they spend over £500 i want to give them a discount of 10% off their total price before a set date i.e Customer account, order before 5th Feb and if your order is over £500 then get 10% off your entire order.

Question is is this possible? I thought about coupon codes but really dont want the customer to input anything - anyone have any other thoughts/advise? i thought i might be able to use conditions to do this?

2. Also if the customer does not buy in bulk and spends under £150 i would like to charge them £6.95.

I just keep going round in circles, i have looked on the forum for "handling charges" "customer accounts" "discounts" etc but dont seem to be coming up with anything fruitful!

Does anyone have any ideas?

2. Setup a delivery charge calculated by order value, if value less than £150, then £6.95, otherwise free

I am only going to be charging customers that have accounts £6.95 if there order is under £150. As they will be seeing a cost price. The retail customers will be seeing another price so i dont want them to have £6.95 added to their price, there orders will be under £150.

Any ideas?

Gotcha, providing different delivery costs is not something i have seen or heard of being done before. Main reason being is that delivery is just that, to cover delivery costs, not make profit, so shouldn't fluctuate. You may need to get a bit clever with account discounts. Conditions do not work online, they are evaluated at page build time.
