I do not partition my drives (EVER!) I have 5 drives. (2.35Tb)
They were two seperate 500G drives taken out by multiple power outages in a fraction of a second

Lots of PCs arrive with their hard drive already partitioned into C & D.

So you should, even a few quid on a extension lead with one built it would have probably dont it

I then do just that by discussing UPS etc... Shame on me again

Backing up from C to D

Yes, things do have a bit of a habit of going off-topic on this forum

My point about C & D was not so much aimed at you but at others who might be backing up data on C to D, which on most PCs would be "pretty silly".
