Catalog Export hangs and never completes...

I have almost finished a client site and I want to export the Catalog (v902IERA) but can't.

The little Export Progress window shows the process to complete the Preparation but then sits at the first bar of the Export itself forever. The file gets created but not populated with the export.

If I click Cancel then a small error box says 'The Parameter is incorrect.'

Everything else seems to work fine. This was an upgrade from v7, but with a new design. I upgraded the database from v7 then exported the Catalog and imported it into a clean v9 site, resolving any errors; exported again from there and imported into the proper new v9 site, then made many changes to product layouts etc etc to suit.

Everything was looking rosy until this.

    Any ideas please?

EDIT: Tried all the usuals, compact and repair in Access. I also went back all the way through my snapshots and everyone has the same problem since I imported the v7 products so I preume it was related to something in that Catalog import - although it was error free.

there is a bug in the snapshot system which can cause this error. Cd has been working on it and tests with a similar site of mine look to work ok with 9.0.3 so I would wait for the next version.

I've had this problem this weekend with my first v9 site - which is also a v7 upgrade. I'd also done everything you've done as well, Duncan.

Not sure I can wait for 9.0.3 - I may have to develop it in 8.5.3 and upgrade later.

Thanks Mal. I certainly hope that 903 is all it's made out to be. I'll have to deliver in 902 and upgrade later- too far down the road now.

I seem to remember seeing something that said the upgrader only worked with V8 sites. No idea where it was though. I remember thinking at the time that presumably we had to upgrade V7 (or V6 in my case) to V8 first and then upgrade to V9.

I've no idea where I saw this and it might have been the beta version. I could also be completely wrong about the whole thing.

No it works fine with V7 to V9 its just eariler versions that may need upgrading to V7 before upgrading to 9

Thanks Malcolm. It must have been the V6 upgrade that stuck in my mind then. I'm in the middle of populating/updating my V8 upgrade and with a bit of luck 9.03 will be along soon and I'll be ready to go live.

Previous instances of this error that I can find seem to be caused because of some kind of db corruption (for example, orphaned product properties or permutations). I would suggest contacting support so that they can take a look at it.
