    Uploading crash

    Hello,

I have a problem with Actinic that I haven't been able to find the answer to on the forum - apologies in advance if it's here and I just haven't worded my search correctly.

When I upload or refresh website it grinds through till 'checking search indices' and then crashes. This has been the case several times I've tried. (it has yet to successfully upload or refresh).

I raised a support with Actinic who suggested running a network test, I did and the results were:

The computer you specified as your mail server is not a valid mail (SMTP) server. Check the computer name or address and try again. If it fails again, then it is possible, you were locked out by a firewall program, or you don't have network connection to this server.

    Actinic Mail Test completed successfully
    server: passed
    connection: failed
    sockets: passed
    communications: failed
    authorisation: failed
    message: Connection refused

I had a chat to the bloke who did the inital development of our site and he says this shouldn't make a difference to being able to upload or refresh as it is the mail test that is failing. He is able to upload to our site but is running a different version of Actinic than ours:

    His: 8.5.1.0.0.0.HFUA
    Mine: 8.5.2.0.0.0.HMVA

Any ideas of why there should be a problem for me to upload but not him?

    Any answers gratefully received.

    Thanks,
    Scott

These bits are saying that you are not connecting to the server - usually its because of a firewall on your pc.

Yeah, strange though because the firewall has been deactivated and it's still crashing.
