    vista and business plus

We had an incident where we lost some tracking, email, order items and payment data from orders after switching to multi-user.

I did find this on the support site:

    Actinic MultiUser / Enterprise
(Access version)Due to known Issues with Microsoft Access databases becoming corrupted when they are shared from a Vista machine, it is strongly recommended that the shared database is installed on an earlier version of Windows.

Is this correct and you should not be using a vista machine to host actinic in a multi-user environment ?

If so I wish I had known before spending 2k unpgrading all of the pc's

This is from Microsoft's own site :http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=935370.

It's only the pc that holds the database that we would recommend being on XP as per the above article.

I see this problem is fixed if you install sp1.

The issue is when I phones support when I got a data corruption problem I was told, this was probably out dated information and it should be Ok to use vista to host the database.

Since then we have reverted back to xp for hosting and upgraded all vista pc to sp1.

Does actinic publish a reccomended system setup to run business plus over ?

We're going to re-test this on Vista SP1 so that we can come up with a firm statement. We're a bit cautious because the Microsoft hot fix that was supposed to solve the issue (before SP1) didn't appear to do so.

My guess is that we should be able to say something in 1-2 weeks.

My own experience of this is that even with SP1 installed the database is slow to respond although this is more so on the user PC than the Administrator one.
