Creating data feeds using Mole End

Have just signed up for the Mole End mash product, which I am finding very useful.

Having to adapt the data feeds, using Custom Variables to supply all the relevant product codes etc to satisfy the needs of the respective shopping portals.

It all seems to be a huge amount of work for an unknown return.

What are your experiences? Would love to know.

You dont need to create custom variables for product codes. The only custom proerties I use is currency, brand, condition and product_type.

I would presume from what you are selling that currency, condition and product_type will be constant.

You can also find more info on the mash at http://moleend.helpserve.com.

One thing I have noticed is that you seem to have size charts images on every page, even pages that don't sell items that need sizes. Do hell to your bandwidth.

As an aside, does Golden Root work? I tried some of that Kamagra stuff a couple of weeks ago and my girlfriend wouldn't leave me alone for hours!

        Hello Richard,

Some of the variables are required and some are recommended, generally, if you give more information then you will get better results.

Actinic user defined variables are also hierarchical, so in theory you can enter a generic one (were it's a brand or classification type variable) for a parent section and then refine them over time.

Creating variables for Mole End shopping portal mashes

Having entered all the choices required for my custom variables I have double checked them on the properties tab in all sections and products. They all appear to have reverted to an identical set of choices, for all sections and products. These are not even the parent choices. Settings configured are shown in attachment.

Have can this have happened and what can I do to ensure they do not change again without my intervention?

          Hi there

Have created the variables required to display various choices using Parent settings to ensure that choices reflect down the hierarchy of sections. These now appear in my Actinic site folder but do not appear in the mashes.

Have exported my Actinic site to a hierarchical spreadsheet and cannot see them there either. If this is why the choices do not appear in the mashes do I therefore have to enter all the choices into a hierarchical import spreadsheet before they will appear in the mashes.

Have I entered the correct settings in the variable, I wonder? I always find the initial and top values always confusing, for example, when I have (say) 6 choices to select from.
