How do I upload my google friendly sitemap onto Actinic?

I am really new to IT and have no idea what all the jargon is about. I have read the threads about submitting a sitemap to google and have had a sitemap done with a sitemap creator.

I have downloaded the sitmap but now have no idea how to upload it into Actinic and give it a URL. When I have added it as a hidden brochure page it ends up with a html URL which Google will not accept.

Can somebody please help me? My site is already acknowledged by google but I am obviously keen to get this sitemap submitted ASAP.

Save your site map in the Actinic site folder on your computer. In Actinic go to Design > Additional Files .... click "add" and find your sitemap. Upload your site.

Tell google your sitemap is at www.domain.com/acatalog/sitemap.html ... changing the "domain" and "sitemap.html" to suit your speciic site.

If your site is well constructed, i think the general consensus is to not bother with one of these, if you do however, i was under the impression it needed to be at root level in which case you need to use an ftp client not actinic. You can also add a link to it in your robots.txt file if you have one to help other bots.

Don't forget that Actinic already generates a very usable site map out of the box - ensure your outer layout has a link to this and Google will spider the pages just as efficiently and you do not need to maintain a copy - Actinic does the hard work for you.

Great, Thanks to both of you for your help. I shall do the site map that you mentioned as I have nothing to lose. I was surprised that Actinic did not cover this automatically but it sounds like they have.

          Thank you.
