    Okay, so this is interesting...

The 264 orders I just down loaded were made of

5 x UK based orders (Duplicated 2 or 3 times)
2 x Hungary Based Orders (Duplicated 100 odd times)

Has anyone come across that before?

did they all have the 'Invoice with order' payment method? The duplicated ones, I mean?
If so, chances are it's customers (real or otherwise) trying to proceed to the next page and, in the absence of anything actually happening on clicking next, probably pressing 'refresh' or similar.

sounds more like a hosting issue to me.

Agreed, can you confirm that the paypal orders get to the receipt page, this to me is were your problem lies, maybe just before it, but basically your shop can not generate a receipt, it eventually hangs, i know stating the obvious but you need to look at each step. but hosting would definately be worth a look aswell not constructing the page in the 1st place. Who is your host?

Oh and may i suggest you remove the checkout indicator or at least change it to a better one.

is that a standard Actinic checkout indicator?
It's a bit....lame. Its not even that obvious what it's supposed to be!

Agreed Process Indicator isn't very inspired, but it's standard... and the least of my problems...

I was hoping it wasn't going to be a hosting issue and can see the torrent of replies already.

I'd just like to point out that I in no way influence my clients in any way what so ever... They already had the hosting and domain names sorted before employing me...

Try uploading the site to a test domain of your own on a different host.

                      My thoughts exactly...

Okay, I've uploaded to a different server:

                      http://www.web-d.biz/index.html

and low and behold it works.

Would one of you be so kind as to run a test order through please?

Tracey/Darren: Do you approve of the New and Improved Progress Bar? I copied the images out of my other site, heaven nows what happened to the originals?

point to note: your £ sign doesn't display correctly on this site/server

and yes, looks better (stylewise, anyway) Not quite sure what happened with the old one but it looked a bit odd!

You all look the bloody same to me

                          Thanks for the confirmation...

So, I'm guessing there's nothing more I can do then go back to my clients an re-iterate that Godaddy should be kicked into touch?

Looks that way doesn't it - be interesting to know why the problem occurs with that host, but then, as you know, lots of strange things are attributed to GoDaddy.

I've e-mailed Godaddy support and if I get some miraculous fix them I'll let you know, but I'm not expecting any positive replies.

So for now, thanks for all your help...

and I didn't receive any either...

Thank you for contacting Online Support. Thank you for providing the requested modification. I have been able to replicate the issue, however unfortunately we are unable to assist with third party scripting issues as previously stated. This does not require the use of CURL to connect to an external system as you have mentioned, and I do not find any evidence that our system is responsible for the
error and do not see any specific processes that would not be available
                                on your hosting plan.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way.
                                Thank you very much Godaddy
