coupon code not working

Hello,

Im working on a site for a client and he wants to have a coupon code, I have set it up correctly and tested it on a fresh template site and it works great but when I add it to his site it does not work at all.

It shows the coupon box and I add in the coupon code but it does not take away the discount.

Please can someone help me?
