DRM-based players etc and Actinic?

Hi all,

Been workig very hard in the background on my new project for www.airbrusharttv.com and have a couple of questions:

Will be upgrading to latest version from 6.5 (been saying it for a year!) and want to implement sreaming tutorials, Flash d-loads and a Digital Rights Management pay-per-view/d-load system. Is it possible to seamlessly link this into Actinic?

I know it's a pretty wide-open question but all I'm looking at doing is having movies which wil need paying for (and some will be simply free) and I don't know if the Microsoft DRM system somehow links to Actinic via PROTX for customers to acess the media once paid for?

Any advice at this early stage would be most appreciated.

Hi Jo,

Sure, we've been using this feature for quite a few years now and already offer downloads of artwork and eps files but the DRM system is different. It is a way of protecting files against copying (to an extent) and works on BBCi and Channl 4's On Demand TV viewing services. It monitors the d-loads and will only let user view files if they have met criteria you set ie: have paid, can only be watched a certain amount of times, will be unnavailable after a certain date etc. (streaming media)

What I needed to know is if I implenent Mirosoft's DRM into my site (it's a player one has to d-load) that could I set the perameters between that management and Actinic as far as paying per d-load or view is concerned? I have read it can be set to work seamlesly with shopping carts but don't know which ones as yet.

It's not that it will replace my d-load features but enhance them with a seperate viewing service.
