Image locations

Is the general consensus that all images should be stored in the site root?

I would like if possible to have all of the images stored in a folder call "images" (original)

Is there a setting in Actinic to change the default image location upload folder?

Product / section images can be kept in a subfolder "images" of the site1 folder (on your hard drive)... when Actinic uploads they are all placed into the same default folder online - typically /acatalog/

Images that are referenced in the design layouts / templates / stylesheets are best saved in the root of the site1 folder - these are still uploaded to the /acatalog/ folder on the server.
