Linking to Product section from a fragment

This is driving me up the wall

I have created a new fragment on my home page to promote a weekly special offer - for the link I selected section and clicked on my newly created Weekly deal section.
However, upon applying it seems the select the catagory above , below anything other than the product section that I want. I have done this many times always the same result.

Any suggestions or is this one of those special feature of Actinic?

When I click "Click her [sic] for more details" under "A new special offer every week" I get taken to a Christmas 2008 section. Was this your intention? Perhaps you need to hardcode the link.

It all seems to work for me otherwise, although if I were you I would check some of your spellings - nothing annoys me more than schoolboy/girl spelling mistakes and typos on e-commerce sites.

      Heather,

Are you certain you have selected the correct Section in the Link area of the Fragment?

I only ask, because according to Firebug the link is re-directing here:

      Code:
      href="http://www.craftyaddicts.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?SECTIONID=Christmas%5f2008%2ehtml&NOLOGIN=1"
Note the "SectionID=" part of the code

My intention was to link to the section call pick of the week that is what is selected in the link selection. But when I save the chnages it reverts back to the secion above or below

Thanks DenbighArmySurp I do tend to find HTML usage a bit hit and miss in Actinic. I do find it fustrating as this product does not seem to function as advertised. or is it just me?

My other half will give it a go - thanks

I had the same prob there is a bug - if you select the one beneath that again it selects the one above - this is a workaround

Are you sure the one in question isn't hidden or alike? If not, try creating a new one and linking to that, if it works, reset up the problem section, something on it has probably corrupted.

no the section functions correctly on the published web site it is listed as an option to select when I do move to a diff section

From the fragment I have created I select link enable it the select the section radio button - from the drop down I select pick of the week - upon applying the setting it has applied christmas 2008.

Will apporach support for an answer

Bizarrely this has just happened to me

I've just set up a "Guides" Brochure page with 2 Fragments:
                    1. On-line Guides
                    2. Military GORE-TEX on the Internet

I have them linking to a Section, using the [LINK] facility within Actinic, but the second Fragment was defaulting to the Section below in the dropdown list.

I couldn't spot anything obvious and don't recall doing anything out of the ordinary, but it happened (Onest Gv'nor).

I deleted the Fragment and created a new one, right click "New Fragment" in the Content Tree and viola, works fine now!

                    P.S. I'm using V9.01

Thats weird - I too deleted the section and it worked fine - the only thing I can think off is the access db is registering the new section - ah well at least it works now
