Order Tracking

Hi,

I am looking for an order tracking system/plug-in for V9 to try and cut down on the " I ordered at 9am and it's now 9.30am, where's my order" phone calls.

Has anyone any experience of this type of software/plug-in, cost, functionality etc.

I have spoken to Actinic as it is available on the South African website, but not here. I was told it is near to the top of the 'wish list', possibly in V10.

Any details appreciated.

Hi Gabe.

I've been looking at the several variations of an Actinic order status/login feature from various developers and must admit yours does seem the best. One thing that I would like to be able to integrate is order notes. For instance, on the test site the orders currently read as:

"This order is currently being processed"

I wondered if it is possible to add a note to that - for example, "Currently awaiting stock from manufacturer - due 21/08/08."

And finally - can this plugin be used as a standalone feature ( alongside Actinic SQL Connector (Standalone)).

This script runs on your server, and requires only that the ActSQL Connector uploads your shop data. The php scripts responsible for this approach are not capable of anything, without this data.

About customisation:
There is an includes file for the project, that contains amongst other things, the text that appears on all the popups, labels and headers. You can change the entire thing to another language, or you can change the meanings of the various indicators and dates. You can even change the little icons, if you wish. All you'd need is a notepad, and some language skills.

The entire thing is css styled, meaning that you can go mental with the colours, and imagery. The basic theme of the system is plain grey. You're welcome to simply look for all the colours in the css, and simply tint them to your site's colour scheme.

At the footer, you'll notice a piece of text reading 'Note: If any of these values...'. This is from the include file. There are a few places you could insert text like this.

Order Tracking System

Just thought I would let everyone know that Interact Studios Order Tracking script has been sucessfully implemented on our website - it's a great bit of kit and well worth the modest outlay considering the end result.

I might also add that the support given by Gabriel was first class.

I have done a few alterations to the original CSS file to hopefully make the look and feel something like the rest of the website.

Looks great Steve, where exactly is Actinicshire?

One thing I did notice on your demo is when hovering over the clock on the first order:

The problem is, although it states it has been shipped on 29th August at 7.10pm, the clock still says 'The order is currently being processed' - is this a bug, or something you've not fully checked off on your side?

I wonder if it is anything to do with the fact that part of the order has been 'back ordered' therefore part of it is still 'being processed' ?

However, I'll run this past Gabriel.
