Is anthing possible in Actinic, like this?

I've created a quick design for what I want, however before I start fiddling and playing then realise I can't do bit's I hoped, I'd like an experts opinion as to whether my proposed design could work with Actinic or not? What bits would need changing or simply wouldn't function with Actinic at all.

Here is a link to my proposed design, the content will vary obviously but the layout items such as the logo, backgrounds, content boxes and positions, could this work or would I be doing the preverbial into a strong wind?

    Many thanks.

No reason why your proposed design is not acheivable

That's great, so pretty much anything is possible in Actinic then! Is there anything on that design that you would avoid trying to achieve in Actinic? I've tried to make it simple but is there anything that's likely to cause me problems or bugs from what you can see?

      Thanks.

For some of the designers here they would see this as a easy site to work on, i can see no reason why you would have any problems turning this into a live site.

Darren is right - that is a very low mod design to implement - if you know HTML and CSS you should have it done in under an hour with no issues at all.

Thanks for the replies guys, as I've said I've had loads of experience with HTML and CSS and can design sites ok. It was meant to be simple with little on display as if you saw what they have now it gives you a headache. I like sites to be simple and uncluttered.

I think under an hour for an absolute beginner is optimistic though!

I hope you don;t keep the colour scheme though - that blue's certainly not my kind of colour.

Agreed, but if you use the DW extension it shouldn't take more than a few hours - just create your layout and add the few actinic bits and you re done

Well that's the unfortunate effects of screens! The layout was produced as a nice deep blue, but photobucket for some reason has converted it to RGB instead of CMYK, it's much nicer than that don't panic. Makes my eyes burn at the moment!

If you have the image in PhotoShop it is a simple slice and dice into DreamWeaver and then integrate into Actinic ... the middle Actinic bit is standard stuff

I've always done that using ImageReady that way, would that work the same with Dreamweaver/actinic?

You can slice the layout into the required parts using many graphics programs such as PS but I would not recommend you use the HTML code that is generated by them. I always manually cut the pieces and then manually create the html code seperatley in Dreamweaver.

DW links to Actinic and can easily add the Actinic parts into your layout. If you don't use Dreamweaver then you will have to add the Actinic parts manually which will take a lot more time end effort (and knowledge of Actinic's guts).

You can also hack one of the existing themes (or use the wizard to get as close as possible to what you want to achieve) and then swap out the existing images for your own.

Looking at the image the main change is the curved background container - this can be added with a few container <div's> and images.
