Designer and catalog on same pc

Hello,

I've just found out that you can't have a copy of Designer and Catalog on the same PC, which is going to be a problem.

I tried Virtual PC but it won't work with Vista Premium.

Any suggestions?

you should be able to.

all you do is add a site to the current install, ie if the first site is designer, add another site (file menu) and use the catalog key

or visa versa, the licence key will unlock to the correct version of the software

You can only have one site open at once though of course.

I've got Virtual PC working fine on Vista, have you downloaded the latest version from MS?

All handle this task very well, perhaps give another visualization system a go?

for Actinic, I found that in tests: http://www.virtualbox.org/
Performed best, and had the most useful features.

I must admit that is elementary knowledge - not getting at you Jon, but support should know that...

For further clarification:

you can can version 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9 on one PC
you can mix designer, catalog, business on one PC

you would only need Virtual PC for different patch levels on one PC ie 8.5.1 and 8.5.2 on one PC - this is only really useful for developers who don't want to force an upgrade on a client site
