    DB Backup Bug in 9.0.2

    Hi

A bug I seem to have tickled...

Fresh install of v9.0.2 IFZA, import V8 snapshot, and then go to quit Actinic and it says:

    "Actinic encounted an error backing up C:\Program Files\Actinic V8\Sites\Site1\Backup.mdb to C:\Program Files\Actinic V8\Sites\Site1\Previous.mdb"

Now obviously that is wrong, because it is stored in My Documents\Actinic V9\etc....

So 1) A report of a bug... 2) is there a quick fix for now, ie a registery change to let it know where the file really is?

As a paid up cover subscriber I will point Actinic support to this post.

    Thanks
    Kev

    Try this...
Go to Housekeeping - Backup - Shutdown Backup Options and change the Backups Folder path.

      Thanks Drounding,

The Housekeeping, Backup menu has a box to specify the path, so I have corrected the path to the new V9 site location and all is fine.

Actinic - please consider this support call closed, but please open a bug on the snapshot upgrade process to correctly set the db backup path.

      Thanks
      Kevin

Kev this is not support, you should email them or call them and tell them directly, although it might get picked up here dont rely on it

Hi Darren, appretiate this is not support, which is why I have emailed support and asked them to take a look at the post.

It seems a sensible way of doing it, helps the community out by showing the issue and resolution, sometimes the community can help quicker than support so that helps me out.

It would also be good if support had a proper ticketing system, logged the email, sent back a ticket, assigned an sla based on cover or non-cover, etc?

I was not having a dig Kev, just it has been common place for people to think this is 1st line support, although Tracey And Chris are good a picking things up on here some times it could get missed.

it was your comment about closing your support call and reporting this as a bug that made me wonder.

            proper ticketing system
i could not agree more, i do know they have one internally but i dont know the ins and outs, mind you should have been given a reference after logging the support call

Darren - didn't think you were having a dig, sorry my reply was a bit rushed and hence may have seemed a bit abrupt! *smile*
