The only way forward, is using an off the shelf php blog, and not one of the popular ones. Host it in a folder on your site and make a template, dont EVER use an iframe, frames or ajax includes. the reason you will make this blog is for SEO. Please dont think it will be for any other reason. If you do, then it'll be an epic fail.

    Wordpress pwnage.

dont ever use wordpress, its not particularly safe.

    Try this:
    http://www.flatpress.org/home/

    and this:
    http://www.simplephpblog.com/

Neither require a database and are VERY simple to isntall, as well as being secure by means of well programmed, and not popular enough to warrant any major cracker attention.

Thank you for the links-the CVE link with search is particulalry good and useful.

I will look at the blog software packages

I realise the importance of Blog & SEO . We also thought it was a useful way of keeping punters up to date with whats going on and I do love to blog

We send newsletter but have found they are not getting through as well as they used to due to enhanced anti-spam software and vista machines I think. We write a fair bit of content for the newsletter and it seemed a waste to not post it online.

Some of the web's most prolific search engine optimisers would cringe at the thought - I advise you do the same, and invest in a few quid.
I know about iFrames and search engines (there are obvious ways round this anyway), but it wasn't important for us. If you needed a really quick solution, this works well. If i'd had all afternoon, I might have spent time taking it integrating etc, but it wasn't worth it for us. NB: if you try it this way to see if you like it, you can easily change to an integrated style later. If - like we found - you don't have the time to maintain it, you might as well find out this way and save yourself some time.

            Hi everyone

Quick update we now have 2 lovely wordpress (sorry Gabe-but they were so easy to set up) blogs that we would like to host on subdomains of 2 of our sites.

They are currently hosted on their own domains and getting some placement. Down side is we have to take visitors out of main site to visit the blogs.

We have re-read the discussion on how to integrate it into site but all it did when we tried to post it as a subdomain was replace the site !!

Any suggestions as to why it did this ?

            Kind regards,
            Katie

i'm going to take a guess here, that your config file doesn't have the correct path names in it
