Changing Promo Banner On Refresh!?

Hi i'm using actinic v8 for our site classixshop.com,

I've noticed on some site i've been on that they have changing promotional banners that appear on their site, changing every time the page is refreshed.

eg: www.stand-out.net & www.reemclothing.co.uk

these both use similar methods. I want to try and impliment this on our site and wondered if it's possible in Actinic? and what's the best way about going about it!?

Right i've had a search within the forums about this topic, but seem more confused than when i started :S, i find myself dabbling into v7 posts and not understanding any of it!?

I'm prosuming i'm having to add some javascript into the act-primary layout and where?

secondy am i able to do this with fragments? as i want this function to work on the bottom 3 promos on my homepage?

I'm only wanting to image to change when the page is refreshed.

If someone could give me some simple direction it'd be appreciated Cheers

You are on the edge of completely breaking your site, do yourself a massive favour and either hold fire or contact someone to do this for you. It will most likely end in tears if you proceed.

Ideally you want an external js file and then either call this from either within a fragment (if for one page only) or in the overall layout if for all pages. There was a post yesterday about something very similar, copy that idea, probably your easiest method.

I recall re-doing my random image tweal for V8 and posting it. Bst look for that and ignore any V7 stuff.
