Catalog fails to upload any file named 'index.*'

Since the failiure in the dedicated server hosting interact-studio.co.uk i'v since got myself a new server.

I have set appropriate settings, and they pass, with flying colours.

We have other sites on there, with the same settings at the server level, they work perfectly.

Neither the site root 'index.html' or the 'index.html' in the acatalog folder fail to upload.

Creepy isnt it?

Since i've never encountered this problem, i have no idea where to look. I'v completed the obligatory shutdown/compact

Can anyone help?

also, i just noticed, that 'offline preview' and 'site preview' buttons are ghosted?

Do you have 'Generate HTML' selected in 'Design | Design Options'?

yes, i do, and it generates said file.

the acatalog page index.html anyhow. The front page index is hot findable.
