Progress Block in Progress Bar Appearing then Disappearing

I've got an odd problem with my website www.gothcloth.co.uk. The actual results vary slightly from browser to browser but generally the darker progress block in the checkout progress bar will appear for a second when you first go to a page and then will disappear. Refreshing the page will cause it to happen again. I can only think that the darker block is being overdrawn with the background or that something is changing its colour.
Any help gratefully received.

Have you removed the progress bar as I cannot see it from your site

Yes, I removed it because it was misleading to customers. I could switch it back on for a bit if you were able to have a look?
