The autofill list when you start to type a variable name out is great and saves a lot of time, however it does not always work. If you do not have at least 3 characters to start the name or if you have a (.) within the first 2 characters, it will not search at all. For instance if you wanted a variable called '7.2v Battery' or '14 Inch' (because 14" is not acceptable), it will allow you to create it, but not autofill it. If Actinic does not like periods or spaces, then stop us using them in variable names, don't let us use them and then make it awkward to get to them, that's a RRPITA.

BUGLET: Autofill On Variable Names Doesn't Like Short Words Or Periods

Hi there
I've reported this bug. If you can't use the 'AutoFill' feature for this reason, then the 'Insert Variable' button works' pretty well. In the 'List Names Containing' box, you can just type '.' and you should be taken straight to the correct variable.
For future reference, it is much better to use just alpha-numerics and maybe a '_' in layout names as this does help to make layout code more readable if nothing else.
