add to cart html button

hi, sorry if this has been asked before, i have been searching for over an hour on this one.
Its late at night!

currently using a standard v9 contemporary theme, i would like to remove the add to cart "button image" and replace it with a standard html, ie browser based button.
I am sure in v6 and 7 it was an easy option, v9 seems bent on using images as buttons, i just require a no frills html button which is generated by the users browser. No image loads.

Any one kind enough to help me on this one.
We are currently putting together a second website.

Switch to the design tab and click on the existing cart button. Navigate to the parent layout (the product layout) and delete the pink layout code for the add to cart button ... replace with

<actinic:variable name="AddToCartButton" value="Add To Cart Button" />

to give a standard browser button.
