Extended Info link on search results

Is it possible to change the link from the search results to go to the extended information page of the product rather than the normal product page?

I'm afraid that this has been requested previously and it was deemed to involve a lot of perl changes to ensure that it didn't cause problems with duplicate products, so at the moment all I can do is add your request to the wish-list.

If you're feeling brave this post (posts 8 and 9) shows how you can turn the Search Results into a fully buyable list of products. The products in the list could use a layout similar to your Extended Info one.
