Is there an issue with ESET?

I am suddenly getting actinic hanging upon initial loading.

I need to use task manager to end it and then re-load. Sometimes it will do it a few times but mostly it load upon the second attempt.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but it still does it.

The only thing I can think of that may have changed recently is that I am now using ESET security.

Has anybody else come across this?
    Graham

Sounds like some restrictions on opening the database - very likely related to Norton/ESET. Can you set up exclusions for access files perhaps?

Try disabling the security completely and try then.

      I shall fidle around.

Unfortunately because of the seemingly random occurences it will be a while before I know if it is cured.

I dont have any issues with ESET, part of the reason why i use it on the network here, it consumes less system resources than others and i dont get any grief with it. Im still evaluating the security side, but have been using the AV for a long time.

I had the same issues when my C drive was running out of space, anything less than 1Gb free and Actinic wouldn't start.

                Duncan,

I've been using Nod32 for a couple of years and not had any problems with it, although it's relatively recently that they included the Security Suite.

Probably like most of us, you used Norton prior to Eset and found it intrusive!!

                Regards,
                David
